The Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams’s 2019 Fall Collection is even more expansive, thanks to long-standing partnerships with Moore & Giles, a world-renowned leather company, and Sunbrella, a leader in indoor and outdoor upholstery fabrics. Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams now offers 16 new leathers – eight of the company’s high-performance leathers and eight from the Moore & Giles Monte Blanc Collection of vibrant colors.
“They have so many rich colors that really give our clients a way to add a pop of color or texture using leather,” says co-founder and President Bob Williams. “I know many families will love and enjoy them.”
The leather products appear on an array of chairs and other Moore & Giles pieces in the collection. Plus, due to leather’s longevity, the material aids in global sustainability efforts.
Mitchell Gold, co-founder and Chairman, says that consumer response to their Sunbrella collection was so positive that they chose to expand their options.
“We [are] including great patterns that are fun and fresh, as well as a pillow collection that’s ideal for enlivening upholstery in one of our neutral Sunbrella fabrics,” says Gold. “What’s prettier than a white [easy-care] sofa with a grouping of pillows you can change out with the season?”
Williams, who leads the Product Development Team, finds inspiration first by looking at how people like to live, creating pieces that make life easier and more comfortable for them.
“For instance, in this collection, we introduced Arlen, a slimmer-scale wood-framed recliner with a vintage feel that doesn’t need a lot of space to recline, allowing it to suit spaces of many sizes,” explains Gold.
In addition, they have a Mid-century inspired Dexter Sofa Collection, the Orson Swivel Wing Chair – a modern twist on a classic chair – and a Supernova Sofa Collection Expansion that is a scaled-up version of their popular swivel chair. In addition, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams has introduced chic new velvets, including the shimmering bronze color on their new curved Marcello clean modern sofa – something that Williams describes as “a perfect marriage of fabric and frame.”
“The clean lines and classic shapes of our pieces make them easy to pair with décor styles from Modern to Traditional, and they can still work if you decide to change your style down the line,” says Williams. “Also, while we enjoy mixing metals, for the major pieces, we keep to a few key finishes – a polished stainless, a brushed brass, a pewter, and a white. We find it offers plenty of choice, while giving continuity, to the look. And it makes it easier for our customers to add pieces to their homes over the years.”
